Bitch You Breakfast.

Nobody loves breakfast more than me (its a proven fact) so when I saw these photos and video I got teary eyed. If only I spoke Dutch.

ITS A BREAKFAST MACHINE!!!!!!

HERES A VIDEO OF HOW IT WORKS:

AND A ROUGH TRANSLATION OF THE VIDEOS KEY POINTS:

Introduction: "Anyone who knows the Wallace & Gromit movies is aware of the possibilities of wood and string to make a fully automatic breakfast-machine. Platform 21 was curious how real they could make such a machine."

“In a movie a breakfast-machine is usually used to introduce a nerd or a professor”

“It is a very traditional breakfast: we call it ‘strictly continental’ “

“There’s toast, jam made by my mother and coffee, but we still need to invent something to whisk the milk because I don’t like coffee without milk”

“...and egg, scrambled egg, which is very easy: all you need to do is drop it on a plate and stop the skin from falling with it. That was one of the first things we finished.”

“in a movie you can manipulate everything, but we wanted to build the real thing. Without any tricks, just to see if it could really work.”

“They invite us and the audience to help improve the machine: Things go wrong all the time, there are thousands of small problems to be solved, by solving one problem at a time we’ll get there.”

“Actually this isn’t very useful; you can just put an egg in a pan, fry it and you’re done. For us it’s about the process, the making of the machine and solving all those problems. Things keep falling or they break: That’s what this is about. If it delivers a perfect breakfast is, in the end, not the point.”

YUM.

I Love Coffee AND Art.

Thanks to Nate McLemore/@anditgoes for showing me this awesomeness and for just being awesome in general.
This is just amazing. There's an annual coffee festival called the Aroma Festival held in Sydney, Australia every year and this summer they used 3,604 cups of coffee — four shades using different amounts of coffee and milk — to make a replica of Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa. Here's a stop-motion video showing the production:

Wild Things + Opening Ceremony

The wild things “roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws" and in an instant I fell in love.

Anyone that knows me has probably seen my Where The Wild Things Are tattoo (sleeve) and knows how I feel about the book and how big a part of my life it is. I love it so much I am still not even sure I will see the movie come October 16th. Alas, whenever I hear of a company coming out with WTWTA clothing I just sigh and think of all the douche bags that will be wearing it.

BUT that has changed thanks to Opening Ceremony. The high end clothing company has collaborated with Spike Jonze to create a classy and sophisticated line of clothing featuring faux fur and beautiful designs. There is even some kick ass jewelry!!

OMFG. I am in LOOOOOVE. Too bad I will never be able to afford this stuff!

Kubrik + Daft Punk

I want! I want! I want!

New Banksy

He never fails to amaze/amuse me.

God's Left The Building

New stuff by Buff Diss, who only works with MASKING TAPE. On September 25th Buff Diss took over the 15th century Church of Saint Bernard for his first European show entitled “God's left the building”. Intrigued by Christianity, Buff Diss tackled it’s divinity on the walls and floors of the church itself, appropriating iconography and constructing a replica tower of Babel in the exhibition’s center. This shit is NUTS.

Well hello there.

Welcome to my new blog, An Art For Living. This is obviously a sister blog to 'A Machine For Living'. Basically I needed another blog to share art, graffiti, graphic design, fashion, fonts, etc. I mean, architecture is my life/passion, but I've got so many other amazing things & ideas to share, so why not create another blog?

Be sure to check back often. I will update as much as possible :)
